  • Overview

    The Assistant Instructor, under supervision of the Director of Instruction, will instruct Topgolf guests in golf lessons, Player Development series, and event lessons. In addition to providing another guest service to TopGolf guests, the Assistant Instructor will also assist the Director of Instruction in his/her group, Player Development and event lessons.


    The Assistant Instructor will work with general supervision and be responsible for scheduling and managing semi-private, group and event lessons and will be expected to deliver top quality lessons to guests.

    This position requires an outgoing individual who possesses good communication skills. The position should have some experience in golf instruction and player development programs for all customer backgrounds.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Help Topgolf guests understand the mechanics of a golf swing at the tee-line at all bays
    • Provide semi-private lessons with guidance form the Director of Instruction.
    • Schedule and maintain lessons for guests throughout the year.
    • Learn to use swing analysis technology (e.g., phone/tablet applications, launch monitors) and best in class learning theories to integrate the use of teaching aids where appropriate in all programs.
    • Assist Director of Instruction and Lead Instructor to engage guests on the tee line on all levels during peak times (when not engaged in golf instruction)
    • Assist in player development series, events and group lessons.
    • Assist in management and execution of summer camps (e.g., Summer Academy)
    • Work different departments at site in downtime as Director of Operations requests (e.g., guest services)
    • Learn club repair and general maintenance of equipment
    • Help with events, such as game explaination, hosting and lessons
    • Assists with lesson marketing and community outreach
    • Contributes ideas for player development series


    Key Qualifications

    • 1+ years experience teaching golf lessons
    • PGA Membership or entry into the program within 6 months of start date
    • Experience coaching with different levels of golfers
    • Record of successful instruction
    • Highly developed communication skills - Social and interpersonal skills required to interact with all Topgolf guests
    • Familiarity with swing analysis technology
    • Ability to develop positive and ongoing relationships with guests
    • Business background (Bachelor’s degree or above), preferred
    • Use of launch monitor technology (e.g., FlightScope, Trackman), highly preferred
    • Use of swing analysis applications (e.g., V1, Ubersense, Winning Identity), highly preferred
