Overview

The Senior Director of Operational Recovery is responsible for identifying the causes that are negatively affecting venue performance and developing plans to turnaround venue profitability for the organization. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be heavily involved with operational and cross-functional leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses the issues that are causing a venue to underperform against expectations
  • Develops plans to address issues to turnaround operational performance
  • Supports field operators with implementing plans that may change processes or behavior
  • Travels to venues and spends time with different teams to investigate operational execution
  • Leads realignment and work redesign efforts within / across operations and functions to address venue profitability
  • Networks and partners with different operational / functional leaders to gain insights into problem areas
  • Reviews operational metrics and analyses to understand the business and get ahead of issues
  • Establishes operational practices and rule sets across the business to maximize profitability
  • Provides leadership and direction to team members on strategy, work priorities and performance feedback

Key Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of operational experience within hospitality, restaurant, retail or entertainment environments
  • 3+ years of experience performing retail or food & beverage turnarounds
  • 2+ years in leading a direct report
  • Ability to travel 70%

Nice  to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Marketing or Hospitality from an accredited 4-year college or equivalent relevant experience
  • Master of Business Administration in Finance, Supply Chain, Operations Management or Strategy or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience leading or overseeing multi-unit entertainment, sports, restaurant and/or hospitality environments
  • The ability to analyze data and situations effectively
  • The ability to influence others to change process or behavior
  • The ability to operate in ambiguous environments and remain effective
  • The ability to develop plans and put them into action quickly
  • The ability to be self-directed and generate schedule based on operational needs
  • The ability to generate creative or unconventional solutions to problems
  • Strong partnership, communication and trust building skills
  • Strong change management skills
  • Strong drive towards taking action and delivering results
  • Strong project planning skills
