Overview

The Senior Event Sales Manager (SESM) assist the Director of Sales (DOS) with leading the Event Sales Team and assist with collaboration between Operations and Culinary teams.  The SESM is to serve as a Topgolf representative to prospective clients and existing Topgolf clients.  The SESM is responsible for selling the exciting experience of Topgolf and work directly with our guests to build their perfect event. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate incremental revenue through client development and management of guest relationships
  • Identifies and initiates new sales prospects, respond to sales inquiries and qualifies leads
  • Understands, executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., determines rates, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, conduct site visits, services accounts and analyzes lost business)
  • Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them
  • Closes the best opportunities for Topgolf based on market conditions and location needs
  • Gains understanding of Topgolf’s primary target customer and service expectations; serves the client by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution
  • Maintain an exceptional level of guest service and satisfaction
  • Works in tandem with Operations Team to ensure flawless execution for ALL events
  • Assist Event Sales Managers, Consultants and Admins with questions and concerns related to their events and event prospects, while following all standards established by the DOS and Topgolf 
  • Leads weekly BEO meetings to review upcoming events with the Catering and Operations teams
  • Assists DOS with approving floor buyouts and all events on high volume days
  • Ensure responsible collection of deposits/payment while abiding by up-to-date PCI compliance
  • Issues any necessary refunds in MerchantLink system following DOS approval
  • Maintains full understanding of Topgolf current events, details of all food and beverage outlets, cross-TG sales opportunities and upselling guest experiences
  • Ensure a safe work environment for Associates
  • Promote teamwork, communication and “fun” atmosphere among Associates
  • Must maintain a style and attitude consistent with Topgolf Brand Standards
  • Travel may be required based upon need 
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-years experience in high volume catering/banquet sales program
  • Hotel/Casino Events/Nightclub/Destination Management Company/Related Industry experience a plus
  • Intermediate and above skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and select CRM systems
  • Familiarity with industry organizations and membership is preferred – IAEE, CIC, PCMA, ISES
  • Analytical ability to keep in touch with industry trends, conduct competitive analysis, and screen business opportunities for maximum use of time and resources
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with upper-management and associates
