Topgolf is hyper focused on growing retail as a revenue stream inside and outside our Venue. We are defining and redefining retail as we enter new markets, consumer segments and business segments.  The Director of retail must be innovative and quick thinking as the environment is fast paced. You will need to be ready to educate around basic retail principals while developing a broad retail long term strategy and managing daily activities.  This position encompasses everything from rolling up your sleeve to reset warehouse supply chain to working with some of the hottest vendors on the market.  You will shape the retail category from the ground up, building a solid foundation to support rapid expansive growth for years to come.

Key Responsibilities


  • Build a long-term strategy and develop, implement and manage new retail channels
  • Plan and develop a retail strategy that meets sales and revenue targets
  • Define and create profit plans
  • Own e-commerce start up and implementation
  • Create a revenue budget and monitor key business metrics hit to hit profit plans
  • Manage departmental internal and venue level spend to hit plans
  • Communicate retail sales plans with Topgolf venues across the country
  • Work with Operations to train and educate the Golf Service Managers to think like retail business owners. Equipping them tools, resources
  • Help execute marketing plans and advertising initiative
  • Champion vendor relationships, source and select all sellable goods
  • Source and design product collection focused on building brand advocates
  • Own vendor relationships, including working with Partnerships to drive national brand alignment
  • Coordinate purchase order mechanics, including timely deliveries and the management of returned and defective merchandise
  • Gather feedback from guests and Topgolf Associates, then translate into category improvements
  • Host quarterly business reviews with all vendors
  • Forecast and manage all streams of inventory
  • Monitor performance of inventory, ensuring that inventory management meets financial objectives
  • Keep a pulse on sales and revenue progress, identify shortcomings, and propose improvements
  • Create Venue level processes to streamline and improve product flow and inventory management
  • Set up replenishment programs and manage stocking levels
  • Analyze and recap sales trends, and assist in forecasting sales levels
  • Liaise with Golf Service Managers to ensure that supply meets demand

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ year experience in the direct retail industry with direct links to field retail management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in retail affiliated category
  • Excellent communication, time management and organization skills
  • A passion for retail and commercial awareness
  • Deep knowledge of distribution and buying trends
  • Brand advocate and passionate about growing the brand
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work efficiently and independently  
  • Self-motivated to better the business
  • Must have skills set in business analytics
